Hello World and AI
I’m Satyajeet Nigade. I build small web apps, and this site is where I keep them and write about how they came together. This is also going to be a space to share more about random things I like: coffee, games, tech, LLMs, hardware, food etc.
Right now it holds a few projects. Vatni splits bills for a group. ClockTask is a shared time planner. DigitalClock is a full-screen clock in a single HTML file. They are small, and each one started because I had an itch.
DigitalClock was the first HTML mini app I made, in 2012, when I was a 14 year old obsessed with HTML Canvas. Being able to draw things directly in HTML and JavaScript felt like a superpower. I remember the wave of HTML5 games that followed, some of them clones of Flash games.
AI is in the title because it changed how I build. I wanted to make something people could actually use. Back then, every feature cost me evenings. With Claude helping, I could keep pushing an app toward what I pictured instead of settling for what I had time to finish. Vision models then made things like receipt scanning a few lines of work, where it used to be a project of its own.
The part I find more interesting is who gets to build. When code is cheap, an app no longer needs thousands of users to be worth making. It can be built for one person, or one group of friends, who split bills a particular way. I think we will see a lot of these. Niche, personal, a bit odd, and exactly right for the people they were made for.
That is the plan for this blog. I’ll write about what I build, what I got wrong along the way, and which choices I would make again. Next up are two posts about Vatni: how it grew out of a spreadsheet I was tired of making, and how it works today.
Thanks for reading.
